The Telecommunications Industry Association’s Structural Standard for Antenna Supporting Structures and Antennas recommends structural inspections every three years for guyed structures and every five years for self-supporting structures. The leading cause of structural demise for a communication tower is poor maintenance. Water freezing in tubular members due to improper weep holes or improperly tensioned guys can be a quick end to a structure or at a minimum require expensive repairs.
ESG is experienced at providing inspections of communication structures and sites including deficiency surveys, guy tension measurements, material thickness testing of members and verticality surveys. Additionally, we inspect foundations, building systems, grounding systems and communication related equipment.
ESG staff can also assist you with site and equipment inventories. Our staff and the contractors we manage have inventoried thousands of sites across the country for due-diligence prior to sites transferring ownership and for the purpose of identifying the tenants at each site.
