The design of amusement ride structures requires a firm understanding of both the structural demands that the infrastructure will have to withstand as well as the way in which the structures could be used throughout their lifecycle.
Amusement structures are often loaded in excess of and more frequently than the design loading required by code because of the high occupancy volumes present during operations. Additionally, these structures are commonly exposed to harsh environmental conditions (as is the case of water rides) or unusual loading due to the nature of the dynamic loading.
